Karen’s Personal Branding and Headshot Session | Winston-Salem Photographer

It rings like a chorus of twinkling bells and you know, you just know, she's in the room. Meet Karen - those of you who know her know what I’m talking about and can HEAR this photograph.

Karen’s childlike joy bubbles under the surface of every conversation, occasionally erupting out into such joyous laughter you can't help but feel uplifted. Yet, as much as she’s fun and enchanting, she gets straight to the heart of the matter when she’s working with her life coaching clients. With kindness in her voice and a twinkle in her eye, she’ll start unpeeling matters one layer at a time, getting to what’s really going on. It’s pretty incredible to watch her work.

It was back before Winter actually became "winter" (*cough* NC weather *cough, cough*) that we had the chance to work together. Karen came to me and asked. "Can you help me brand my business?" You see, she'd had one brand for years and wanted to take it in a different direction. We talked about where she was, where she'd been and where she was going - finding the common threads and making a note of what needed to be avoided and, likewise, accentuated for the new branding of her business. We discussed what to wear, location options and body language, helping to prepare her as much as possible for her session.

We enjoyed an unseasonably warm day beaming with sunshine. Wandering to Hanes Park and down Canal Drive towards Juxtaposition Studios in the West End Mill Works, we took advantage of the ranging aesthetics sureounding our studio. And, wouldn’t you know it, Karen’s portrait session was accompanied by no other soundtrack than her melodious laugh.
