How to Create an Intentional Inspiration Board for Your Next Brand Photoshoot
In a whirlwind of trendy strategies and endless dancing reels tactics, it's easy to feel lost in infinite possibilities of how to visually market to your clients. Stress not, fellow female entrepreneurs! I want to help you find creative clarity so you can get the most out of your next brand photoshoot.
Meet the Inspiration Board!
An inspiration board, also known as a vision board, is a visual sanctuary where ideas, images, and quotes converge to ignite your imagination and focus your intention.
So, grab your corkboard, your pins and glue or hop onto your browser and open Canva, Pinterest and Google and let's start this creative exploration tailored specifically for your next brand photoshoot.
Step 1: Gather Your Atmosphere
First things first, gather decorative elements that resonate with your brand's aesthetic. Consider how you want to be perceived and how you want your client to feel. Are you a high end minimalist and only want to use a color palette of whites, champagne and carmel with luxurious textures? Fantastic! Pull those color swatches and examples of textures you love and add them to your board. Once you’ve gathered these atmospheric elements, you’ll begin to see your unique brand identity emerging.
Step 2: Define Your Brand's Essence
Take a moment to define the essence of your brand. What sets your business apart? Is it your commitment to empowering women? Your passion for sustainability? Your dedication to craftsmanship? Identifying your brand's purpose and find a few quotes that reflect your essence. Do you have mushy client reviews from your dream clients? These quotes will serve as a guide throughout the creation process, ensuring that your board aligns seamlessly with your brand's values and aspirations.
Step 3: Curate Your Processes
Walk yourself through your client experience. How do they contact you? What materials do you share with them? How do you hold your meetings? What deliverables do you provide? Pull images that represent each of these experiences.
i.e. Your clients all contact you via email; so snag an image of a computer. Do you provide handouts to your clients or online guides; then include images of your handouts and guides.
This list will help you know what props and resources to bring.
Step 4: Posing
Here’s where you want to make sure you show up the way you want in your next photoshoot. Find poses you love or want to try. Be bold, have fun and try new things!
Step 5: Infuse Your Brand with Personal Touches
Enhance your inspiration board with some extra touches of personality. Do you have a special mug that you drink out of or a picture your kid drew that sits on your desk? Maybe you have a bobblehead or jar of inspirational quotes on your desk that brings you a spark of joy. Include pictures of these elements on your board.
Step 6: Display and Share
Find a place you can see your board often. You can make tweaks to it as inspiration strikes and you prepare for your session. Most importantly, share your board with your photographer so they can be just as excited about your vision!
I hope your inspiration board is not only fun to create, but helps you focus in on what’s most important for your next brand photoshoot with purpose and clarity.
