When he told you you'll never be enough
Shivering in my not-yet-warm car, I flipped the radio dial to "on." For the most part, I keep tuned to KLOVE (94.1FM). Hearing songs of praise, of triumph over struggle and of grace help wash away the negativity I can burden myself with giving me the opportunity to focus on Love and what's really important in life. The words that met me as I sat in my car were beautiful. I'd never heard this song before and as each line sung out, they kept hitting straight to my heart, each insecurity called out.
I included a link to the song if you're interested in hearing it. If you're some place you can't listen, I included the lyrics below the video link. Either way, I encourage you to hear what this song has to say. No matter what you believe, there is a truth that needs to be heard : fear is a liar.
Fear Is a Liar
When he told you you’re not good enough
When he told you you’re not right
When he told you you’re not strong enough
To put up a good fight
When he told you you’re not worthy
When he told you you’re not loved
When he told you you’re not beautiful
That you’ll never be enough
Fear he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
'Cause fear he is a liar
When he told you were troubled
You’ll forever be alone
When he told you you should run away
You’ll never find a home
When he told you you were dirty
And you should be ashamed
When he told you you could be the one
That grace could never change
Fear he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
'Cause fear he is a liar
Let Your fire fall and cast out all my fears
Let Your fire fall Your love is all I feel
Fear he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
'Cause fear he is a liar
